Int. Disabled Sailing Congress

16000 disabled people were welcomed in 314 French sailing clubs during 2016. Some countries developed this practice as well. However, countries remain, where absence or low development is to be noticed.

Paralympics games in Tokyo (2020) will no longer propose sailing as a competition item. This decision of the International Paralympic Committee has to be reversed for 2024.

Further, limited to the Hansa European Championship, the French Sailing Federation decided to organize an international congress on disabled/without disabled sailing practices.

The goal is to share good (or less good) experiences, to propose solutions to encountered issues:

  • welcoming,
  • management,
  • training,
  • communication,
  • teaching,
  • adaptability
  • and so forth...

A part of this congress will be dedicated to devices, boats equipments.Testing them will certainly be possible.

All contents and discussions will be collected, translated in various languages and posted on Internet.

The goal of this congress is to allow new countries to develop the disabled sailing practice either competition or leisure within their own structures.

The aim is to have this practice considered as full sport by itself.
